This recipe came from my sister .  I have a couple of different recipes I have used over the years.  This one is easy and has great flavor, takes a little bit of time, but what lasagna doesn’t.  Jeri’s is almost the same but a little easier. Choose the one you have time to make.

Cindy’s and Jeri’s Lasagna

Ingredients

  • Cindy’s
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, diced
  • salt and pepper
  • 1-16oz can tomatoes
  • 2- 6oz cans tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese
  • lasagna noodles, cooked
  • Jeri’s
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 2 15oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 2 packages Shillings Spaghetti Sauce mix
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • lasagna noodles cooked
  • mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  2. Cook hamburger with garlic and onion. Season with salt and pepper, Drain grease.
  3. To hamburger add basil, salt, tomatoes and 1/2 can water, tomato paste.
  4. Cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Cook Noodles
  6. In a medium bowl combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, eggs, salt and pepper.

  8. Fry hamburger, drain off grease.

  10. Pour tomato sauce into a quart jar and fill with water, add to hamburger and stir in the spaghetti mix.. Add 2 tablespoons butter, cover and cook 20 minutes.
  11. In medium bowl combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, beaten eggs and salt and pepper.
  12. Cook noodles
  13. For both recipes in a 9×13 pan put a little sauce of bottom, layer noodles cottage cheese mixture, sauce, repeat layers. Top with cheese and bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
  14. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
