This recipe came from my sister . I have a couple of different recipes I have used over the years. This one is easy and has great flavor, takes a little bit of time, but what lasagna doesn’t. Jeri’s is almost the same but a little easier. Choose the one you have time to make.
Cindy’s and Jeri’s Lasagna
Ingredients
- Cindy’s
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1/2 small onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, diced
- salt and pepper
- 1-16oz can tomatoes
- 2- 6oz cans tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound mozzarella cheese
- lasagna noodles, cooked
- Jeri’s
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 2 15oz. cans tomato sauce
- 2 packages Shillings Spaghetti Sauce mix
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- lasagna noodles cooked
- mozzarella cheese, shredded
- cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Cindy’s:
- Cook hamburger with garlic and onion. Season with salt and pepper, Drain grease.
- To hamburger add basil, salt, tomatoes and 1/2 can water, tomato paste.
- Cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook Noodles
- In a medium bowl combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, eggs, salt and pepper.
- Jeri’s:
- Fry hamburger, drain off grease.
- Pour tomato sauce into a quart jar and fill with water, add to hamburger and stir in the spaghetti mix.. Add 2 tablespoons butter, cover and cook 20 minutes.
- In medium bowl combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, beaten eggs and salt and pepper.
- Cook noodles
- For both recipes in a 9×13 pan put a little sauce of bottom, layer noodles cottage cheese mixture, sauce, repeat layers. Top with cheese and bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
