I don’t remember where I got this recipe from. I know I have made it since my kids were little. I used to make a lot of casseroles when my kids were young. I don’t make them much anymore. This one isn’t hard and is a great one dish casserole. Add a green salad and you have supper.
Ingredients
- 1 pound round steak
- flour
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 small onion, sliced thin
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- dash thyme
- dash garlic salt
- 2 1/2 cups water
- salt
- paprika
- 3 medium potatoes ( peeled and sliced thin)
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350. Cut meat into 1 inch cubes, coat with flour. Put oil in a skillet and heat. Add meat and brown, Remove meat and place in a casserole dish.
- Place onions in same skillet and sauté for a few minutes. Remove and place onions on top of beef.
- Cover with 3 tablespoons flour, salt, pepper, thyme and garlic salt.
- Add potatoes, season with salt and pepper Pour water over all and cover with foil and bake 45-60 minutes or until meat and potatoes are done.
